Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 14, 2026

This website, jewishniagara.com, is operated by Jewish Niagara, also known as the Niagara Jewish Welcome Centre, a registered Canadian charity (Registration No. 855801619 RR0001) located at 6417 Main Street, Niagara Falls, Ontario L2G 5Y3, Canada ("we", "us", "our"). Jewish Niagara is a nonprofit organization serving Jewish residents, students, and the many visitors who come to the Niagara region each year. This policy explains what personal information we collect on this website, why we collect it, and how we handle it.

What we collect

Information you give us. When you fill out a form on this site, we may collect your first name, last name, email address, and phone number. If you check the group option on an event form, we also record that you are planning for a group of 10 or more people. If you make a donation, reservation, or purchase, the payment and booking systems we use collect the information needed to process it.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, we use cookies and similar technologies. This site uses:

  • Google Analytics, which collects information about how visitors use the site (pages viewed, approximate location, device type) so we can improve it.
  • The Meta pixel, from Meta Platforms, Inc. (Facebook and Instagram). It shares information about your visit with Meta so that we can measure our advertising and show relevant ads to people on Meta's platforms. Meta may use this information as described in its own Privacy Policy.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. You can also opt out of Google Analytics with Google's browser add-on, and manage how Meta uses your data in your Facebook or Instagram ad settings.

Why we collect it and how we use it

  • To respond to your inquiry about our programs, events, and getaways.
  • To send you emails about events, pricing, and related updates. Every email we send includes a working unsubscribe link, and unsubscribe requests take effect promptly, no later than 10 business days.
  • To follow up with you by phone about your inquiry.
  • To send you text messages only if you have separately agreed to receive them. We do not send marketing text messages without that separate consent. If you ever receive texts from us, you can stop them at any time by replying STOP.
  • To plan for group reservations when you tell us you are booking for 10 or more people.
  • To manage bookings and reservations.
  • To measure and improve our advertising.

We do not sell your personal information.

Who we share it with

We use trusted service providers to run our marketing, communications, and reservations. They process your information on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes:

  • Mailchimp (email marketing)
  • GoHighLevel, also known as LeadConnector (customer relationship management and follow-up)
  • Little Hotelier (reservation and booking management)
  • Meta Platforms and Google, as described above, for advertising and analytics

We may also disclose information if required by law.

Where your information is stored

We are located in Canada, and some of our service providers store and process information outside Canada, including in the United States. When your information is outside Canada, it is subject to the laws of that country. We choose providers that maintain appropriate safeguards.

Consent and your choices

By submitting a form on this site, you consent to us collecting and using your information for the purposes above. You can withdraw consent at any time:

  • Email: click unsubscribe in any email, or contact us.
  • Text messages: reply STOP to any message.
  • Phone calls: tell us you prefer not to be called, or contact us.

Withdrawing consent does not affect any booking you have already made.

How long we keep it

We keep your information only as long as needed for the purposes above: typically through the event season your inquiry relates to and up to two years afterward, or until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it, whichever comes first. Booking and donation records may be kept longer where the law requires it.

Your rights

You may ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Contact us at visitor@jewishniagara.com and we will respond within a reasonable time. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (priv.gc.ca).

If you live in a US state with a consumer privacy law, you may have similar rights of access, correction, and deletion under that law. Use the same contact to exercise them.

Security

We limit access to your information to the people and systems that need it, and we use providers that protect data with industry-standard security. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information appropriately.

Children

This website is intended for adults planning family travel and community participation. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Forms should be completed by a parent or guardian.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will post the updated version on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
