Niagara Schools Programs
We offer school-based programs and synagogue visits that introduce students to Jewish identity, traditions, and lived experience.
Many Grade 11 religion classes include a visit to a synagogue as part of their curriculum. We welcome these visits and provide students with an opportunity to experience Jewish life firsthand in a warm environment.
During these visits, students:
- Learn about Jewish beliefs, practices, and traditions
- Explore the meaning behind rituals, prayer, and synagogue life
- Gain insight into Jewish identity and community
- Engage in open, respectful dialogue and ask questions
We also support Holocaust education at key learning stages, particularly in Grade 6 and Grade 10.
We can connect schools with age-appropriate educational resources, survivor testimonies and second-generation perspectives, and local speakers from the Niagara community.
Educator Workshops
We provide workshops for educators and school staff focused on building confidence and capacity in teaching about Jewish identity and antisemitism.
Topics may include:
- Jewish identity and lived experience
- Holocaust education and its contemporary relevance
- Addressing antisemitism in the classroom
- Inclusion of Jewish identity within EDI frameworks
Workshops are designed to be practical, thoughtful, and grounded in both historical context and present-day realities.
Institutions & First Responders
We work with institutions and community organizations, including first responders such as Niagara Regional Police, to support inclusive practices and greater understanding of Jewish identity.
Programs may include:
- EDI-informed educational sessions
- Cultural awareness and sensitivity training
- Guided tours and immersive learning experiences
- Dialogue-based sessions to build understanding and trust
Antisemitism, Jewish Identity & EDI
Our work addresses the complexities of antisemitism within contemporary conversations around equity, diversity, and inclusion.
We provide educational programming that:
- Explores historical and modern forms of antisemitism
- Highlights the lived experiences of Jewish individuals and communities
- Supports the meaningful inclusion of Jewish identity within EDI initiatives
- Encourages thoughtful, informed, and respectful dialogue
