Our Story
Jewish Niagara was founded in 2005, inspired by the Rebbe’s vision to make vibrant Jewish life accessible for all Jews, wherever they are.
Our work is rooted in the philosophy of Chabad-Lubavitch. Chabad is an acronym for Chochmah, Binah and Da’at, meaning wisdom, understanding and knowledge. It reflects the belief that Judaism should not only be practised, but understood, internalized and made meaningful in everyday life.
The Chabad movement flourished for generations in the town of Lubavitch, a name associated with love. That spirit remains at the heart of who we are.
Strengthening the Community
Jewish life in Niagara is diverse, constantly evolving, and deeply connected.
Our community includes local families, students, and professionals, as well as thousands of Jewish visitors from across Canada and around the world who pass through each year.
Our Jewish Welcome Centre serves as a central gathering place for visitors and locals alike, offering support, connection, and a friendly face in the heart of Niagara Falls. We support both the local community and visitors with:
- Jewish Life & Programming: Shabbat meals, holiday celebrations, and opportunities for connection throughout the year
- Visitor Support: Guidance and assistance to help Jewish travellers experience Niagara with ease and comfort
- Kosher & Hospitality: Access to kosher food options and support in planning a stay that meets your needs
- Niagara Experiences: Trusted recommendations and access to local attractions to enhance your visit
Our Mission
At Jewish Niagara, our mission is to strengthen and support this unique community by creating opportunities for connection, meaningful Jewish experiences, and accessible resources.

As our community continues to grow, so does our vision. We are working to expand our programs and develop important resources, including the establishment of a local Mikvah and enhanced offerings for both residents and visitors.
